Czech Theory

The book Czech Theory by Vít Gvoždiak summarizes eighty-year long development of Czech semiotics. It deals with the questions on the nature of semiotics and ways to discuss it with historical perspective.

For this book, I created a decorative mosaic of tiles with the motif of the Czech flag in many shades of blue, red and beige. Even years later, the mosaic still seems fun to me. I didn’t stop with the cover, I designed the book’s layout and typeset it. I used the motif of a wedge from the cover as a graphical detail inside the book as well.
